During my trip to London at the weekend, I saw the evening performance of &Juliet at the Shaftesbury Theatre on 7/5/22.
I was fully blown away with the talent and energy of everybody on the stage - and getting to experience that from the front row was superb.
Cassidy Janson as Anne Hathaway was definitely a standout performance for me as she brought such fun elements of comedy and character to the part. As well as serving incredible vocals.
Alongside her - Oliver Thompsett as William Shakespeare had us in fits of laughter with some brilliant comedic timing and another amazing voice.
For a short time, Keala Settle is taking on the role of Angelique - Juliet's Nurse. Keala's portrayal of this role was insanely heart-warming and hilarious. Her powerful voice blew me away and if you have the chance to see Keala in this role before she leaves... DO IT!
Miriam-Teak Lee in the titular role served sass, energy and outstanding vocals - she has really become one with the role of Juliet which is fantastic to watch. Juliet is such a strong character throughout the show and Miriam has a beautiful way of playing this, which was so well done and she received the roaring applause she deserved.
Carl Man, standing in as first cover for the role of Romeo brought some phenomenal vocals and a fun portrayal of his large personality.
Another wonderful understudy performance was Benjamin Terry - playing the role of 'May' was wonderful. His emotion and vulnerability throughout the performance was played perfectly and it was great to hear a few different riffs and vocal choices and emotions.
Tim Mahendran was a master of his craft in the role of Francois playing to the more nervous part of the character before his confidence grows but always bringing top quality vocals.
The show as a whole was a joy to watch and I would love to mention everybody because I had a beaming smile on my face the whole time. The costumes, designed by Paloma Young, were both relevant to the period of the piece and dazzling!
Another incredible aspect of this show is the choreography by Jennifer Weber which was eye-catching and exciting.
Overall, this is another must-see show in London's west end at the minute. Everybody on and off-stage works together beautifully to create a stunning masterpiece of a show that I hope will run for years to come!
