'And Then There Were None' UK TOUR REVIEW

Last Night (16/1/24) i had the pleasure of being invited to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, for the press night of the touring production of ‘And then there were none’.

‘And Then There Were None’ is a gripping thriller by Agatha Christie, but with impeccable direction by Lucy Bailey - This is an Agatha Christie Crime play like you have never seen it before! It tells the story of 10 strangers who are brought to a secluded island, and after being cut off society, the reason for their time on the island becomes “horribly clear”

Truthfully, throughout the entire performance I was on the edge of my seat. Every single moment was as exciting as the next and each character brought a new dynamic to the play keeping the energy high and the tension even higher!

Innovative set design by Mike Britton accompanied by the fantastic direction of Lucy Bailey make this production a hit. The cast is made from a team of brilliant performers, each of whom bring something new and interesting to the stage. The cast includes Bob Barrett (Doctor Armstrong), Joseph Beattie (Philip Lombard), Oliver Clayton (Anthony Marston), Jeffery Kissoon (General Mackenzie), Andrew Lancel (William Blore), Nicola May-Taylor (Jane Pinchbeck), Katy Stephens (Emily Brent), Lucy Tregear (Georgina Rogers), Sophie Walter (Vera Claythorne), Matt Weyland (Fred Narracott) and David Yelland (Judge Wargrave). Each and every one gave a well thought out character and an exhilarating performance. However, standout performances came from Sophie Walter, Andrew Lancel and Bob Barrett for their sheer genius characterisation of Agatha Christie’s beautifully designed characters!

In terms of other plays around at the moment, this is possibly the most intriguing and mind-melting, I could watch it all day long and still not tell you exactly ‘Who Dunnit’. This is the main reason why I would recommend this play to absolutely anybody who likes a murder mystery! Whether you know the story or not, you are bound to witness something that will very much impress you and leave you wondering “How on earth?”…

So if you want to catch ‘And Then There Were None’ then you are in luck - The production is running at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford until Saturday 20th January, and you can also catch it on the rest of its tour, and for that you can find information on their website andthentherewerenoneplay.com

Grab some tickets whilst you can!
